Diego Riley is a Cuban-American director whose restless curiosity was shaped by growing up in a Peace Corps family in Bolivia, Western Samoa, Panama, and Washington DC. Diego is most drawn to stories that explore the cultural and historical forces that shape our experience, brought to life through immersive visuals and a drive for meaningful change.
Since graduating USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, Diego has directed projects as wide-ranging as major label music videos with artists such as Ava Max, Iggy Pop, and Sophie Powers, to California clean-air ballot initiatives, to irreverent comedy sketches, to sustainable fashion promos, to outdoor adventure products, and even United Nations committee campaigns.
In addition to his freelance work, Diego co-founded an LA based production company, Good Intentions Paving Co, whose name serves as a reminder to always turn intention to action (as the saying goes, the road to hell is paved with…)
He is currently in production on his first feature-length documentary in Southern Utah, based around the water crisis on the Colorado River. He is an avid outdoorsman, a native Spanish speaker, and often barefoot.
